About the event
Help our neighbors in need stay warm during South Florida’s coldest nights.
During last winter’s extended cold spell, Broward County shelters received more requests for socks and blankets than their available supplies could meet. Socktober grew out of that need.
On October 17 and 18, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul will collect new socks and new blankets after every Mass at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Simply bring your donation to the collection area outside the church, after Mass. All donated items will be distributed to shelters serving neighbors in need throughout Broward County.
Your kindness will help local shelters be better prepared when cooler weather arrives. Thank you for sharing warmth with our community.
